John L. Headley, MD

Dr. Headley grew up in the Southern California area and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California. He received his medical training at UCLA, obtaining his MD degree in 1976 and completing his Dermatology Residency at UC Irvine in 1980. After moving to the Seattle area in 1980 with his family, he founded Northwest Dermatology & Skin Cancer Clinic. For many years he served as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Washington and has mentored many UW medical students over the 32 years he has been in practice. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. His practice includes general Dermatology and MOHS surgery. His outside interests are many and include training and field trialing his beloved black labs, woodcarving, hunting and fishing. He and his wife have raised four wonderful children and he can now boast to being a proud Grandpa for the first time.

David Shneidman, MD

Dr. Shneidman is a board certified Dermatopathologist who comes to Northwest Dermatology several times per week to read and diagnose our biopsy slides. Dr. Shneidman is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Pathology Department at the University of Washington.

Preston Lehr, PA-C

Preston Lehr Joined Northwest Dermatology in February of 2012.  His background includes five years of family practice in rural Othello, Washington.  He grew up in Mount Vernon and received his undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Montana.  After living in Italy for two years, Preston returned to the Seattle area and completed his medical education at the University of Washington, MEDEX Northwest physician assistant program.  Preston enjoys finding effective and maintainable solutions for his patients.  He is currently a member of Washington Association of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Physician Assistants.

Elsa Davenport, Medical Aesthetician

Elsa joined Northwest Dermatology in April 2005.  She completed her aesthetic training at Greenwood Academy of Skin in 2004 and worked one year in a Spa setting.  Elsa is certified and trained in laser therapy, various chemical peels and product lines.  She specializes in adolescent and adult acne as well as anti-aging, skin resurfacing, facial rejuvenation and laser hair reduction.

Prior to joining the aesthetic world Elsa worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the health care industry for 12 years.  The combination of both careers has allowed her to provide a holistic approach to healthy skin as well as assisting clients in accomplishing their goals.  Elsa is passionate about helping clients achieve vibrant, healthy skin and empowering people with the knowledge and the tools they need.

Katy Turville, Medical Aesthetician

Katy Turville has been practicing aesthetics since 1990.  Working in all aspects of the industry, the majority of her career has been spent specializing in medical aesthetics.  She has worked with plastic surgeons and dermatologist in both pre and post surgery care.

Katy is able to compliment all skin types.  She is especially adept at treating clients with sensitive skin and currently on medications to prescribe the proper regimen to achieve the desired goals.  Being certified in laser, as well, has given her the ability to combine preventative and corrective programs for optimal results.  Katy adds a natural kinesthetic touch and an organic love of working with people.

Julie Wentzel, Medical Aesthetician

Julie Wentzel has been a clinical aesthetician since 1985 and has worked professionally for cosmetic surgeons, skin care clinics, salons and spas in both Seattle and San Diego.  Julie is committed to staying current with the latest innovations in the industry to provide the best treatment and skin care for all of her clients.

After completing her cosmetology certification and an AA in Marketing at Shoreline Community College, Julie attended the Swiss Skin Care Training Center for advanced training in aesthetics.  She also earned the International Therapeutic Examination Council Certification (ITEC) and received training in cosmetic chemistry in an affiliated program with UCLA.
